No Notebandi for the BJP in Gujarat, Himachal Campaign

Steering clear of the repercussions of demonetisation, the BJP in Gujarat and Himachal are planning to keep it out of the agenda
Demonetisation, which was one of the most contentious decisions taken by the Narendra Modi government, is missing from the BJP’s campaign narrative in Gujarat. Instead, the party plans to focus on the other achievements of the Modi government, such as the surgical strike by the Army on September 29, 2016, and the Triple Talaq verdict.
Ever since the surgical strike, according to the BJP, there has been a 45 percent decrease in the number of infiltration attempts and 175-180 militants have been killed. A senior party leader speaking to an agency said, "The message will be clear and definite that the surgical strikes carried out by Indian forces in September 2016 hit at the morale of infiltrators and militant groups and also forced Pakistan to reconsider their operational strategies."
According to the leader, the party will change its narrative in the poll-bound states from being tough on black money to tough on terror. During the campaigning, Prime Minister Modi will hold 15 rallies in Gujarat and several more in poll-bound Himachal Pradesh. The aim will be to highlight the several important schemes promulgated in the last three years such as the Mudra Scheme and the newly launched Saubhagya Yojana.
